Research relies on trust: who contributed what, when, and who was given access to it. In common practice those records are ordinary logs and metadata, editable after the fact.

isScience is the layer that produces those records as evidence: tamper-evident (any alteration shows) and verifiable by the parties involved and by anyone they choose to share them with. isScience records contributions, disclosures, and AI involvement, and the order they happened in, without judging whether work is correct or novel. The records need no token, no network, and no account with isScience to be checked; an account adds the workspace and its tools, and is never required to verify a record. This layer runs alongside the tools researchers already use and is designed to complement, not replace, the verification and disclosure infrastructure now emerging across the research community.
